The CCI Press is an academic/scholarly publishing house with a dual interest in trade titles. The Press emphasizes peer-reviewed publishing and strives for uniformity and quality in the series produced. It is recognized by the Canadian Federation of the Humanities and Social Sciences as an eligible publisher of scholarly works.
The CCI publishes in all subject areas related to the north. Each year, 3-5 titles are produced, and distributed to national and international audiences.
The CCI Press boasts an impressive backlist of more than 100 titles in 6 peer-reviewed series. In each of the formats are contributions that deal with any of several thematic groups: Circumpolar, Aboriginal, and First Nations Peoples, Community Issues, Environment and Ecology, History and Politics, Traditional Knowledge, Renewable Resource Management Sustainable Development, Wildlife/Natural History.
Most publications result from sponsored research; however, unsolicited manuscripts and co-publications are also considered. Provision may be made in all cases for the publication of English translations of works in other circumpolar languages, especially where the work is supported by grants from the country of origin.
CCI Press is a registered associate member of the Book Publishers' Association of Alberta (BPAA), the Association of Canadian Publishers (ACP), the Association for the Export of Canadian Books (AECB), the Canadian Book Information Centre (CBIC), and the Canadian Copyright Licensing Agency (ACCESS Copyright).
